This is one of my favorite things that happens during the tour and why cycling is like no other sport. If a stage happens to go through the home town of a rider, that rider with permissions of the leaders of the tour is allowed to sprint off from the peleton and greet his family on the side of the road. Key in on his wife, its says it all.
